At Plugin Accountant, we prioritise the privacy and security of your data. To further protect your account, we've implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA provides an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step in addition to your password when you log in.
What is MFA?
MFA is a security measure that helps confirm your identity when accessing your account. Even if someone manages to obtain your password, they won't be able to log in without the second authentication factor.
How it Works:
- First-Time Login: When you log in for the first time, you'll be prompted to set a strong password.
-
Set Up MFA: After setting your password, you'll be guided through the MFA setup process. You can choose to receive verification codes through:
- Authenticator App: We recommend using a secure authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy. The app will generate codes on your mobile device.
- Email Link: A verification link will be sent to your email address. Simply click the link to complete the login process.
- Subsequent Logins: For future logins, enter your password as usual. You'll then be prompted to enter a verification code from your chosen MFA method.
- Fallback Option: We strongly recommend setting up a fallback option for your Plugin MFA. Please ensure that you select an alternative method to the preferred option when you set up MFA.
Why MFA is Important:
- Enhanced Security: MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access, even if your password is compromised.
- Data Protection: MFA adds a crucial layer of protection for your sensitive information.
- Peace of Mind: Rest assured that your account is well-protected against unauthorised entry.
Troubleshooting:
- Lost Device/Email Access: If you lose access to your authenticator app or email, please contact our Support Team for assistance.
- Verification Delays: Occasionally, verification codes might be slightly delayed. If you don't receive a code promptly, wait a moment and try again.
Security Best Practices:
- Strong Passwords: Always use strong, unique passwords that are difficult to guess.
- Device Security: Keep your devices (computer, phone) secure with strong passwords or biometric authentication.
- Regular Updates: Install the latest software updates to ensure your devices have the latest security patches.
